You may have used Blogger or any other blogging tool and you saw an option for a page and a post.
Some people might not know the difference between these to of might even get confused.
This two thing are almost the same thing but they still have a very slight difference which I will explain in this article .
What is a post?
First a post is like a page but it has an option that automatically sets the date an article was posted and updated so when you are posting something new to your site you don't have to worry about updating the publishing date, the author and so on.
Infact a post gives you the option to automatically recomed other posts in your site to visitors.
That means at the end of every article the post page automatically displays links to other popular post in your blog without you having to stress yourself to add them one after the other.
What is a page?
A page is simply a page.
Using a page is more like writing a computer program in a low level language, you have more control over the program but doing things is the he'll of a process compare to using a high level language where you have less control but doing things is a lot more easier.
Look a page like using a low level computer program and a post as using a high level computer program.
When using a page, most thing you see in a post like auto updating the time you posted an article to your blog and when you update those articles, suggesting other posts, etc are not there by default.
You have to manually include them if you want them which is sometimes the hell of a process.
You might even make some mistakes while updating the time you updated an article or even forget to update at all.
But this doesn't mean pages are useless. They are still as useful as post.
When should a use page or post ?
Well, it all depends on what you want to do on your website or the kind of thing you want ro publish.
If you have a website you want to post articles (like a blogging website) the post feature might be a good option for you as it will save you a huge load of stress.
Post might also be useful if you have a website for other stuff like an online shop and you want to publish an article for your costumers.
Post also help in SEO as they allow search engines to know when your article was published and when last it was updated.
Some web host also allow the option for public comments in posts
Pages are also useful as well. Pages will be a good option if you wanted to add a page that is not an article to your blog.
For instance you are a YouTuber or you did some thing greats and you need donations.
You might want to create a page in your blog that you can share the link to the donation page to your fans.
Pages are also useful if you want to post something to your site but you don't want random who people who visit to see them except they have the link, or you might want to test a feature in your website privately, you might create a dedicated page for that and test the feature untill it feature untill it works properly.
There are so many other uses of pages and post and good places to use them. I hope the few I have stated above is enough to make you deeply understand the difference between the two .
